POWDER METAL MANUFACTURING OF A CLUTCH SHOE

The PM Clutch Shoe – shown on left – is profiled here to illustrate how a very complex geometrical shape – if it were to be machined from steel bar stock -several features would need to be produced with electrical discharge machining. It proves to be simple as a PM part once its tooling is designed and built correctly and then placed within the proper compacting press. Many hundreds, of this part, are pressed each hour. Following sintering and deburring this PM Clutch Shoe is ready for shipment and assembly.
